"Rippling Waves Class", includes instruction on curved piecing
Workshop with Heidi Pridemore

How many projects have you passed up on lately because they involved sewing curves? Even if you say just one, that’s one too many in our opinion! There is an easy way to cut and sew curves quickly. Come join us for this workshop and learn how! You will never want to pass up a curved project again. Heidi will also cover bias triangles and how to use one of her favorite rulers, the Cats Cradle XL from Creative Grids. The first half of this class consists of cutting out several curved blocks and reviewing both the traditional and new ruler methods for making Cats Cradle blocks. In the second half, attendees will sew their curves and blocks together.

The Creative Grids Cats Cradle XL ruler is required for each participant.

 

 

"Batik Ribbon Twist"
Advanced Beginner workshop with Heidi Pridemore of The Whimsical Workshop

This workshop covers the quick and easy shortcuts you can use while constructing this beautiful quilt. It will cover techniques that Heidi has developed over the years, as well as some of her favorite everyday tools that she reaches for in the studio. This quilt can be made up with any themed, patterned, or colored fabrics, and looks great in batiks, floral prints... basically anything you’ve got in your stash! In this class, attendees will complete one 20” block. This can be converted into a singular wall hanging or used as one of the 6 blocks that make up the finished quilt.

 

"Fusible Appliqué, The Whimsical Workshop Way"

This workshop is designed to teach you quick and easy shortcuts for making Fusible Appliqué quilts. Heidi Pridemore will show you the techniques that she uses every day in The Whimsical Workshop studio, covering her favorite tools and how to finish raw appliqué, among other insider tips. 

Kit purchase required: $40.00/person

Kit includes pre-cut fabric for entire project, batting, fusible web, and (4) small spools of Aurifil 50wt threads.

 

 

"Little Succulent Garden Pillows"
Workshop with Heidi Pridemore

Recommended for Advanced Beginners and above

In this workshop, Heidi will walk you through how to make your very own three dimensional Little Succulent pillow. These pillows are like potato chips... once you get started, you can’t make just one! The pattern includes three different sizes and an assortment of petal shapes so that you can customize the pillow to your liking. The first half of the class will focus on making the petals, and the second half will cover pillow assembly. An acrylic template set is available for purchase.

 

"To Infinity and Beyond Scarf"

Come learn how to make this perfect travel scarf! Attendees will learn how to create the hidden pocket, install a zipper and every single easy step that goes into making a beautiful infinity scarf. The best part is that you can use Minky, cotton, flannel, or any fabric you’d like.

"Moroccan Bazaar"

In this class attendees will learn how to make Triangle in a Square units, as well as the perfect method for flip and sew, and various ways to make Half-Square Triangles. See how all of these units assemble together to create this stunning quilt top. Heidi will cover working with paper templates as well as her favorite rulers for this project.

 

 

"Compass of Color"
Workshop with Heidi Pridemore

Recommended for Intermediate and above

"Fabric Baskets"

Come learn how to make these adorable Fabric Baskets! They are so simple and quick to make. Heidi will show you how to do a box bottom seam and share her chart for the various sizes you can make. What a perfect gift for a loved one or just a fun way to get organized around the house.

 

"Playing with Aurifil"
Workshop with Heidi Pridemore
Length: 6 hours
Recommended for Advanced Beginners and above

In this workshop attendees will draw your own mandala or use one of supplied by us to trace onto fabric. Then everyone will explore the different thread weights from Aurifil as you stitch up your masterpiece. Attendees will need their own assorted thread weights or the Aurifil Sample Box available on our website. Companion lecture available.

 

"Playing with Color"
Workshop with Heidi Pridemore
Length: 6 hours
Recommended for Advanced Beginners and above

In this workshop attendees will put into practice the topics covered in the Playing with Color lecture. Attendees will be using either the provided applique or pieced pattern. Participants will need to bring their own fabric as listed on the supply list. Companion lecture available.
